CPP mediated biological drug
Cell Penetration Peptide(CPP)
Normally living cells are not permeable to macromolecules such as, proteins and nucleic acids. Many of the drugs however need to be delivered inside the cytosol with effective amounts. Small protein domains, known as Cell Penetration Peptides (CPP) have been developed for delivery of therapeutic macromolecules inside the eukaryotic cells by administrating through dermal, ocular and nasal routes. The CPP have ability to carry cargos bypassing BBB (blood brain Barrier). Though in the early stages of its development, CPP have enabled the new Drug Delivery System (DDS) in many disease conditions.
Cell Penetrating Motif
A carrier that can effectively deliver biomolecules such as proteins and genes to the cytoplasm or nucleus by using a peptide consing of 7-30 amino acids.
Mainly applied as a drug delivery system for the development of various disease such as cancer, heart disease, skin disease, rheumatoid arthritis etc.
